From automatic patterns

RECALIBRATE REORIENT ACT

Hypnosis to recalibrate the patterns keeping you between where you are and where you want to be.

RUBY ORCUTT

Certified Master Hypnosis Practitioner

For more than a decade, my professional work has centered on understanding human behavior, emotional patterns, and the processes that influence change.

Today, I bring that experience to a direct, structured approach to hypnosis focused on self-agency and intentional action.

Background in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Our work together is collaborative, grounded, and goal-oriented. Hypnosis can be clear and practical. You understand the process, recognize your own responses, and develop a greater agency and mastery over what happens next.

YOU ARE NOT
THE PATTERN

A reaction can feel automatic without being permanent. A belief can feel true without being accurate.

A familiar response can continue long after it has stopped being useful. Patterns are learned, and learned patterns can be examined, interrupted, and recalibrated.

Hypnosis creates a focused state in which you can recognize, interrupt and recalibrate automatic responses while remaining aware, communicative, and actively involved.

YOU ARE INAUTOMATICMODE

Why the pattern persists

You know what you want to do. The same response still shows up.

Your mind learns through repetition, association, emotion, expectation, and experience. Eventually, some responses become so familiar that they happen before you consciously decide what you want.

It may be time to work with the pattern itself.

What hypnosis actually does

HYPNOSIS IS NOT
GIVING UP CONTROL
IT IS USING YOUR
ATTENTION WITH INTENTION

In every session, you continue to hear, think, respond, and communicate.

You can accept an idea, question it, adjust it, or decline it. My role is to guide your attention through a structured process.

YOU remain the active participant.

Recognition

WHERE DOES THE PATTERN
KEEP SHOWING UP?

You know what needs to get done, yet you keep postponing the action that would move you forward.

You reach for it during stress, after a meal, with coffee, or because the moment itself has become associated with smoking.

You find yourself reaching for food when what you are experiencing is not physical hunger—and the urge feels stronger than the intention you made earlier.

You want to pursue the opportunity, speak up, or make the change, yet an old expectation about what might happen keeps influencing what you do.

You may stay silent, over-accommodate, withdraw, react defensively, or repeat a familiar dynamic “to avoid conflict,” even when you want to communicate and relate differently.

You may delay, create distractions, pull back, “have an accident,” or abandon an opportunity when moving forward challenges a familiar belief about who you are or what you can expect.

You may overthink, hesitate, lose focus, avoid visibility, struggle to communicate confidently, feel unable to access your abilities, have difficulty starting or completing a project, or undermine your skills, talents, knowledge, and experience when pressure increases.

You understand the loss, yet certain memories, emotions, or moments continue to pull you back, making it difficult to fully reorient toward the life in front of you.

Different circumstances. Similar process. An automatic pattern is influencing an intentional choice.

The method

FROM AN AUTOMATIC
PATTERN TO
INTENTIONAL ACTION

A structured progression that makes recognition practical and action observable.

  1. 1

    Recognize

Notice the automatic response and the circumstances that activate it.

  2. 2

    Recalibrate

Examine the assumptions, associations, and learned responses maintaining it. Then, adjust your foundation.

  3. 3

    Reorient

Create an internal reference point that reflects what you know, want, and choose now.

  4. 4

    Act

Translate the shift into choices, decisions, boundaries, habits, and behavior.

THE WORK BECOMES YOURS

My definition of success is your growing ability to create and sustain change through your own self-agency.

Thanks to Ruby Orcutt’s recalibration method, I haven’t reached for a vape in three months. Years of willpower and money spent on other approaches hadn’t helped. I struggled with the concept of quitting. These days, I think about finding freedom.

I never imagined I would laugh during sessions while clearing a story I had been carrying: “Push harder, or it isn’t worth it.” No wonder I felt stuck while building my creative business. I learned to think outside the box and enjoy the process. I dare to say that I’m at my best.

I started working with Ruby because I didn’t know how to diet or stay consistent. My weight was affecting my health and self-esteem. The biggest changes I’ve noticed are that my focus is now on a healthy lifestyle rather than food, along with a new sense of flow and zero guilt. I recommend working with Ruby because of her amazing ability to offer support, guidance, and tools I can use for myself moving forward. Like her name, she is a gem!

FAQ

QUESTIONS BEFORE
YOU BEGIN

What can I expect from a session?+

Sessions are calm, collaborative, and structured around a specific pattern or goal. You remain aware, responsive, and actively involved. You can speak, ask questions, accept or decline suggestions, and stop at any time.

Is hypnosis safe?+

Hypnosis is generally considered a low-risk practice when used appropriately by a trained practitioner. It may not be appropriate for every person or circumstance. If your needs are better suited to medical or mental health care, I will say so directly.

What if hypnosis conflicts with my religious or spiritual beliefs?+

Hypnosis does not require a spiritual belief system, belief in reincarnation, or acceptance of any particular philosophy. The work is centered on your own thoughts, responses, imagination, experiences, and goals.

Is hypnosis the same as therapy?+

No. Hypnosis offered through Best Human In Action is an educational and self-improvement service. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, or mental health diagnosis.

Since you have a clinical background, will you work with me as a therapist?+

No. My clinical mental health counseling background informs how I understand behavior, emotional patterns, and change. My current work is structured as hypnosis and self-improvement, not clinical mental health treatment.

Do I need a referral to book a session?+

No. You can book directly. If you are receiving medical or mental health treatment and are uncertain whether hypnosis is appropriate alongside that care, you may choose to discuss it with your treating professional first.

What if I am already seeing a therapist?+

Therapy and hypnosis can serve different purposes. You are welcome to discuss your hypnosis work with your provider. Best Human In Action does not replace or interfere with existing clinical care.

Is what I share confidential?+

Your privacy matters, and information shared during sessions is treated respectfully and privately. Before we begin, I will explain how personal and session information is handled so you understand the privacy boundaries of the service.

If familiar approaches keep leading you back to the same pattern, hypnosis offers an alternative way to work with automatic responses that conscious intention alone may not have changed.
